How to log in as Root in Ubuntu.

This is how to get to the hidden system files as an administrator and change them or delete them at will.

First, click the Dash button which is the top button on the left hand side of your Ubuntu desktop. Then type..
  • 'terminal' and click the icon which says 'terminal'. A terminal window pops up, then type..
  • 'gksudo nautilus'. If Ubuntu says gksudo nautilus in not installed, then install it using the software centre and repeat the above steps.
Now we can test it out with something like removing the horrible and universally hated default bongo drumming intro sound which is here.
